F & I
More and more pressure is being put on the F&I manager to contribute to the profitability of a dealership. In many cases, this portion of the bottom line may exceed the margin on the vehicle. Customers are typically suspicious when talking with the manager, so credibility rules this part of the transaction. It may be more appropriate for the F&I manager to lead off with the GRC program due to its inherit savings for the customer. By emphasizing the merits of the program and the savings for the customer by raising their deductibles, the F&I manager builds credibility with the customer and will have less of a hard sell for other offerings. Leasing Companies
As an added incentive for the leasing CSR, a GRC could be added to every lease as mandatory. As pushy as this sounds, the customer still saves money by raising the deductible on their vehicle insurance and will automatically realize the “favor” the CSR did for them.
Body shops
Body shops have the same issue of eroding profits. The consumer is not aware of this or doesn’t care. They still think the body shop has tremendous leeway in waiving deductibles. The body shops we are working with are using the GRC plan as a give-away. The customer is still getting something for nothing, while the body shop looks like a hero. Customer satisfaction at its best.
Auto Dealerships
More dealerships are eliminating glass replacement services due to economy of scale; it just isn’t profitable. With the flexibility of the NGE GRC plans, a three or five year contract can be rolled into the financing of every new or used vehicle. The value add for the dealership is customer satisfaction. Even though the customer is paying additional monies for this protection, they will more than cover this expense by changing their insurance deductible to $500 or even $1000 deductible; a suggestion made by the dealership with their customer in mind.
This program is a natural for Auto Dealerships in conjunction with their local NGE affiliated AGR shop. The warranty becomes a perfect add-on at purchase time providing the windshield coverage that is no longer part of the customer’s insurance protection. Because of the reasonable pricing on all three of the term warranties, this customer sensitive add on becomes a profit center as well as ensuring the customer of a quality and safe windshield replacement.
